Hot Summer Series Number 1~ Golden Rays Makeup Tutorial

Hot summer~ hot hot summer!

While thinking of the title of this series, I remembered f(x)'s song, Hot Summer. Thus, the title!

But anyways, here we are again for a new makeup tutorial.

This may seem a bit similar to the gyaru look. But I made modifications which I think is better(?)

So here we go!

1. Use a makeup base or primer~

I would use a primer instead of a base if I had one. But since I didn't, I used a base. This base has a light purple shade which minimizes redness. It does but it also makes my face into a floating ghostly face! Hihi~ Look at the photo beside it. I look like a ghost. Or as I [we] call it, "espasol face."

2. Put some foundation/tinted moisturizer.

They say it's better to use tinted moisturizer during summer. But in my case, I don't. Moisturizer makes my skin really oily and that's not good. So here I use my all time favorite local foundation, San San Matte Foundation in 3. I put a little amount on my palm. Rub my palms together to warm up the product, then lightly pat it on my face. I then use a moist sponge to secure the product.

3. Conceal, conceal~

Though this is not in my routine. I use concealer if I'm wearing my contacts~~ :)

4. Enhance your brows~

Nothing is better than neat eyebrows. I can go out of the house even with only my eyebrows groomed. I would never leave the house without them fixed!!!

5. Use primer!

Since it's pretty hot out, you usually sweat a lot, which may make the makeup crease or cake. So primer is there to rescue our makeup!

6. Golden shade

Using a shimmery gold shade, dab the eye shadow onto your eyes until the crease. But this may work for different eye types. I used my fingers for this look~

7. Chocolate brown

Using a darker color, something like chocolate brown, dab it on the outer third of the eye. Begin from the outermost area towards the middle. This will create a gradient look.

8. Brown liner

I used a brown gel liner instead of the black one since I think that dark brown would suit the softness of the look.

9. Mascara!

I curled my eyelashes then used a mascara base for lengthening. Then I used my trusty mascara. I usually don't use waterproof mascara unless I am at the beach or at parties.

10. Finishing touches!

Powder your face after everything. It is not recommended to powder your face immediately after putting on foundation since there is a higher chance for your foundation to cake. Then use your favorite blush or bronzer (in this case I used an orange toned blush and topped it with a bit of pink). Swipe your choice of lipstick or gloss. (I used concealer, rosy lip liner and a sheer pink lippy)

Here's the best photo I have :( I was actually doing the tutorial while preparing for my part time work. So I was only able to take a photo in the office with my phone, I also forgot to remove my ID~! :))
